Red Mark Blanton
Weight: 1400
Height: 15.2 1987-2012 Well done old friend; happy trails until we meet again. Red Mark Blanton sired over $300,000 in arena roping winners, and won over $80,000 himself in the roping pen--all levels--and was also used in junior rodeos by kids and won a slew of barrel racing money; they don't get much faster, bigger or more athletic than Red Mark. This 1987 sorrel stallion won the 1990 Heading Futurity at the Wyoming State Fair. He has placed in several reining futurities and is an AQHA point earner. He has been to the United States Team Roping Finals several times and has also been to the pay window at National Barrel Horse Association events. Red Mark Blanton is a three-quarter brother to a gelding that qualified for the AQHA World Show in Team Penning in 1993. Additionally, he is the full brother to the stallion that won the Reining at the 1994 National Western Stock Show in Denver (Wyoming Blanton). Red Mark, heading (both photos) and running junior barrels at Cheyenne Frontier Days. |
Blue Light Ike
According to Will Gill and Sons Ranch/Performance Horse Sale, and Joe/Cathy Murray: "Blue Light Ike has ROM points in heading, heeling and team penning. World Show qualifier in two events. Won at PRCA, USTRC, NHSRA, NIRA and Junior rodeos--all events. This horse has done everything ever asked of him and has done it better than expected. He won his first AQHA points at the Cow Palace in the open heading and heeling as a two-year-old. As a four-year-old, he won the Norco Junior Rodeo finals. He's been hauled ever since, and is the model of a foundation-bred stallion. We have bred mares in the morning, and hauled him to rodeos in the afternoon. He has stood tied to the trailer for days and nights at rodeos and never caused any trouble. We have been asked many times if he was a 'colt by the stud' and we reply 'No, this IS the stud' because he is so good minded." Ora Taton (PRCA steer roper/team roper) winning the famous Oakdale Rodeo on Blue Light Ike.

A Special Badger
Can you say ROPE? And roan...to boot. Badger has been with us a long time. He was green broke when he came to us years ago as an eight year old, and had mainly been used for breeding and a little cattle gathering on an eastern Colorado ranch. He has produced some gorgeous and athletic blue and red roan offspring that have been a pleasure to start and show his good disposition. One of his get was roping at the jackpots as a two-year old, and is seven and still going strong. Badger is so quiet that the kids ride him, and he ropes both ends. He will make several training runs in a row, can run down the fastest steer in the pen, then walk back toward the boxes as quiet as you'll see anywhere. For a smaller horse, he is incredibly fast. He also shows natural desire to keep a rope tight when used on the ranch and enjoys his job. Badger's pedigree is loaded with AQHA and PRCA world champion bloodlines and competitors in roping, reining and cow horse events. Pictured with Dave and Sean Shumpert, heeling at Denver, Sean Shumpert pushing cows/ranching, and the Gunderson kids piled on at home!

Driftwood
Driftwood matched against, and outran, the legendary Clabber...a world champion running horse. Driftwood was a very well balanced individual and showed an alertness that is still evident in his progeny. He was an extremely fast horse and devoured ducking and diving calves. He was a tough horse and his sturdiness was shown in his years of racing and traveling on the rodeo circuit. Driftwood runs in the lines of many top roping and barrel racing horses, including Clay O'Brien Coopers legendary "Ike". Driftwood entered greener pastures in 1960. Photos courtesy AQHA Hall of Fame.
Peppy Sanfritzco
Peppy Sanfritzco "Fritz" is one cool stud. This guy is a proven and consistent producer. He settled several outside mares in the last few years, and we have some nice babies of his that you can look at. He'll hand or pasture breed. Fritz is level headed, well mannered, hauls great with other horses, gentle, and has correct confirmation. This guy rides around good, moves off leg, and he's kid broke. Fritz was even used in therapeutic riding programs. He works good in the brandin' pen, drags calves, works cows, stops nice, has a solid turnaround, and rides good inside and out. Fritz is a sweet horse and is great to work with. He's gentle as can be!
